Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Verdikt is operated by NM Collective LLC ("NM Collective," "we," "us," or "our"). Questions about this policy can be sent to zach@nmcollective.com.

2. Information we collect

Verdikt does not require an account to play. We create an anonymous authentication session so the service can recognize your device and enforce private-room access.

3. How we use information

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

4. What other room members can see

A room is available to its host and participants who join using its invite link or code. Room members can see the member list, shared deck, completion progress, and final result. They cannot see the direction of another participant's individual swipes. Your profile display name is private. If you use it as your name for a room, other members of that room can see the room name you chose. Editing your profile does not change the names stored in past or active rooms. Anyone who receives an active invite can join before the room starts, so share invites only with people you want in the room.

Shared results. Any participant can share a finished result. A shared result link shows only the winning place, its public photos and city, a Google Maps link, and "Picked with Verdikt." It never shows the room link or code, who was in the room, how anyone voted, your liked places, your phone number, your Quick Pick starting location, or when the group decided, and it does not let anyone join the original room. Anyone who has the link can open it and pass it on, so a shared link is not private. Other participants in the same room can share their own links to the same result. Shared result pages ask search engines not to index them.

Public pages. Public pages are off unless you create one and turn it on. A public page shows only the public name you choose and the past group Verdikts you add one at a time, as the same place cards a shared link shows. Turning a page on does not add any past or future Verdikts. Your liked places, votes, groups, room links, phone number, and private account name never appear on it, and a shared link does not appear on your page unless you add that Verdikt. Anyone with your page link can see it and pass it on. Verdikt has no page directory, search, or followers, and public pages ask search engines not to index them. A group's choice on your page does not mean you visited or endorse the place.

5. Service providers and third-party content

We use service providers including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, and Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. These providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, and request metadata. Verdikt may also display provider-rendered content and links from services such as Google Maps and Instagram. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies when you interact with their content.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain room, preference, and swipe information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Verdikt and provide Your Picks. A saved account keeps its phone identity and claimed history and any chosen profile name until you request deletion. A shared result link made without a saved account stops working after 30 days; one made or kept by a saved account (including a link attached when you sign in and claim this device's picks) works until you turn it off in Your Picks, we remove it, or the account is deleted. Turning off a link stops new views and new link previews right away, but we cannot recall screenshots, copies, or previews that apps already made. A public page and its selections stay until you turn the page off, remove Verdikts, or delete the page in Your Picks; deleting your account deletes the page. We may suspend a reported page or take down a link without reading your private picks. Feedback and city launch requests are retained as reasonably necessary to review them, improve the product, and send the requested notification, unless a longer period is required for security or legal reasons. You may request deletion of your saved account, linked phone identity, and associated personal history, or information associated with a room or city launch request, by following our Data Deletion Instructions. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.

7. Your choices and rights

You can sign out from Your Picks. Clearing site data removes the current device session, but does not delete server records. Saved accounts can be recovered by phone verification. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. Contact us at zach@nmcollective.com to make a request.

8. Children

Verdikt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Verdikt evolves. We will update the date above when we do.
