Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Verdikt is operated by NM Collective LLC ("NM Collective," "we," "us," or "our"). Questions about this policy can be sent to zach@nmcollective.com.

2. Information we collect

Verdikt does not require a player email address. We create an anonymous authentication session so the service can recognize your device and enforce private-room access.

• Room and preference information: the display name you choose, city, selected preferences, and room participation details.
• Activity information: experiences shown to you, your left/right swipes, and the group's resulting match.
• Quick Pick location: when you choose Get food or Go out, we use the current location, address, or city you provide to rank nearby options. The precise location is kept in a private database table, is not shown to friends, and expires after 24 hours. Friends may see an approximate neighbourhood or city label so the group understands the shared starting area.
• Local device information: an anonymous identifier and display name stored in your browser's local storage, plus an anonymous authentication session, so you can return to a room.
• Technical information: our hosting and service providers may process device, browser, IP address, and request-log information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot Verdikt.
• Feedback information: if you send feedback, we collect the message, its category, the page you optionally include for context, and an email address only if you choose to provide one.

3. How we use information

• To operate shared rooms, generate group decks, and calculate matches.
• To rank Quick Pick options by proximity to the location you provide.
• To maintain, secure, and improve Verdikt.
• To review product feedback and respond when you provide contact information.
• To respond to support and deletion requests.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

4. What other room members can see

A room is available to its host and participants who join using its invite link or code. Room members can see the member list, shared deck, completion progress, and final result. They cannot see the direction of another participant's individual swipes. Anyone who receives an active invite can join before the room starts, so share invites only with people you want in the room.

5. Service providers and third-party content

We use service providers including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, and Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. These providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, and request metadata. Verdikt may also display provider-rendered content and links from services such as Google Maps and Instagram. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies when you interact with their content.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain room, preference, and swipe information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and improve Verdikt. Feedback is retained as reasonably necessary to review it, improve the product, and respond when requested, unless a longer period is required for security or legal reasons. You may request deletion of information associated with a room by following our Data Deletion Instructions. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.

7. Your choices and rights

You can clear Verdikt's browser-stored identifier by clearing site data in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. Contact us at zach@nmcollective.com to make a request.

8. Children

Verdikt is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Verdikt evolves. We will update the date above when we do.
